HITEC Luxembourg S.A., the Luxembourg based engineering and technology company, announced today that it has been selected by ESA’s European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) for a project in the frame of the General Support Technology Programme (GSTP). ESA’s GSTP programme intends to convert promising engineering concepts into a broad spectrum of mature solutions. The innovative project will focus on the design of an S (2-4 GHz) / K-band (18-27 GHz) full motion ground station antenna with a 13 to 15 meter aperture for earth observation applications. The project led by HITEC Luxembourg includes a feasibility study as well as the final design. MIRAD Microwave AG, a Swiss company, is partner in the project. MIRAD cares for the RF-design of the antenna and the feed system.

3rd April 2012

emergency.lu released a new video capturing the rapid deployment scenario. The video explains how a typical rapid deployment scenario in term of crisis or disaster takes place, including alerting, approval, air transport, deployment, service usage and the benefits the solution.

The emergency.lu platform, initiated as a PPP by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with HITEC Luxembourg, SES Techcom and Luxembourg Air Ambulance, is designed to help the humanitarian and civil protection community in the field to (re-)establish telecommunication services for effective communication and coordination of first responders. The platform provides satellite infrastructure and satellite capacity, communication terminals, and rapid deployment logistics in response to natural disasters or man-made crises.

emergency.lu, the global multi-layer telecommunication platform will be exhibited at the DIHAD 2012, the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Exhibition in Conference in Dubai, UAE. This major event will take place from the 1st to 3rd April 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
In the frame of emergency.lu, HITEC Luxembourg will present the Nomadic Satellite Communication system NoSaCo® Rapid. NoSaCo® Rapid is part of the NoSaCo® product family providing nomadic satellite terminals. To provide access to local and remote services advanced cloud technologies are being used, based on the HITEC Luxembourg Dynamic Information Sharing Platform (DISP®).
